Teesside Industry

I took this photo in September 2006 when I was lucky enough to have a flight over the area in a 4 seater Piper.

The area looked quite different from the air and I'm not entirely sure where this photo shows.

Can anyone help out ? Please add a comment. You can also contact me at: julie_tweedy@fsmail.net

These storage tanks are at Seal Sands, the big ones being opposite the Ore Unloaders at Corus Redcar site.
If you cross the Transporter and head off up the Seaton road to the next roundabout and turn right you would pass all these sites ( I dont think you can travel all the way along there without being stopped though )

The river area at the bottom of your photo from left to right shows North Tees No 4 berth, Simon Storage and Vopak berths with their associate tank farms. The river area at this point is also one of the "turning circles"between No 19 & 21 buoys for turning ships around. The harbour office being on the opposite bank.
The upper part of your photograph shows Phillips/Petroplus oil jetties which export oil, gas and oil products refined from the Ekofisk pipeline.
